How to assign products to categories in Shopware 6

This guide shows you how to add products to categories or remove them from categories in Shopware 6 using cobby.

Steps​

Assigning products to categories in Shopware 6

  1. Load your products and click on cobby PIM in the top navigation bar.

  2. Click on a row in the Categories column to select the product you want to assign to a different category.

  3. Click on "Show Task Pane" in the top navigation bar. The cobby Task Pane opens on the right side of your screen.

  4. Click on "Editor" in the Task Pane navigation. You will now see which categories the product is currently assigned to. In this example, the product is only assigned to the "Men" category under "Clothing".

    Click the checkbox of the category you want to add the product to (or uncheck to remove it). For example, to also assign the product to the women's category, click the checkbox next to "Women".

  5. Click the "Save products in cobby" button at the top to save your changes.

Result​

Your category assignments are now saved and visible in cobby.

tip

You can assign a product to multiple categories at once by checking several category boxes before saving.
