Maintain Magento attribute options directly in Excel

A simple task like adding new attribute options for manufacturer, color, size, etc. can turn into a daily task in Magento, depending on the number of options and products.

Example: We assume that many products from various manufacturers are already available in Magento, but the respective manufacturer has not yet been included. Sometimes, however, it makes sense to search for and select specific manufacturers.

Create attribute in Magento

Therefore, the new attribute "Manufacturer" is created subsequently in Magento and then all manufacturers must be entered.

Assign manufacturer to products

In the second step, the manufacturers are assigned to the corresponding products.

Bulk assignment

In Excel/cobby the mass assignment is easier and faster to realize compared to Magento. For this, all products from one manufacturer are selected and the respective manufacturer is chosen from the attributes task pane.

Create new manufacturer directly in Excel

If not all manufacturers were created in Magento, a new manufacturer can simply be entered in the corresponding Excel cell. cobby then creates this new manufacturer in Magento and offers the newly created manufacturer in Excel in the Attribute Task Pane for selection.

Please note: You can add options to the cobby task pane, but you cannot delete them directly in Excel. For that you have to log into the Magento backend and make the desired changes there.
