Feature to disable stock management

We have added a new feature that allows you to prevent changes to inventory attributes by cobby. If the relevant system for the inventory attributes is an ERP system and Magento is only a downstream system, you can use this feature to ensure that no stock changes are triggered when using cobby. You can find the "Stock Settings" on the cobby configuration page in Magento.

enabled

By default, inventory management remains enabled and all inventory attributes remain visible, modifiable and savable.

read-only

If you want to see all inventory attributes but don't want changes to be made to them, setting inventory management to read-only is just what you need. Make sure that "Default quantity" and "Default stock availability" are set, as Magento expects these system attributes when new products are created. With the first save in cobby the values will be sent to Magento.

Based on the settings in the image above, each new product would have a default quantity of 5 and would be out of stock. For products already in Magento, no stock attributes are transferred via cobby.

All changes to inventory attributes by Magento remain visible in cobby. However, if you change e.g. the product quantity in cobby and save the product, the change in quantity will not be transferred. cobby simply discards the change to these attributes. This does not interrupt the processing of all other changes to the product.

disabled

In addition to the read-only mode behavior, disabling it also hides all inventory attributes. In this mode, any changes to the inventory attributes via Magento will also not trigger a red product status. New products also use the default settings defined in the settings.

The ? symbol provides further help on the functions of the field.

Please note: Changes to these settings will be applied only after cobby is reindexed and Excel is restarted.
